Clinics are a great bonding experience for a large group interested in improving their understanding of how fitness relates to horseback riding.
Clinics are similar to horse yoga. In horse yoga, I focus more on creating a fun, positive environment for both horse and rider where we go through general stretches and breathing exercises to promote relaxation.
During clinics, I focus more on education. Clinics are more appropriate for a group that is serious about improving their ability to ride. Think of the yoga as a fun group activity, and the clinic as a seminar.
Clinics have two parts- in the saddle and on the ground. First, we go through what each rider struggles with during an in-depth group conversation. Then, each rider will ride around as we assess them as a group as we discuss what the rider struggles with physically (always leaning forward, trouble pushing heels down, poor core control, etc). After we assess all riders we will discuss exercises for how to correct these issues in the saddle. Once we finish, we will put the horses away and participate in a group session on the ground. I will provide a short exercise program for each participant designed for them to complete a few times a week at home that will fit their lifestyle and help them achieve their riding related fitness goals.
$200/Person + Travel Fee
5 Person Minimum
Length depends on group size. Smaller groups (5 or less) will normally take 60-90 minutes. Larger groups (6+) will normally take 120 minutes+
